Job Description

The vision of the Government Finance Function is to ensure that we put finance at the heart of decision making. Driving the agenda, not just keeping score. It is at the forefront of the Government’s functional agenda, building a broad and inclusive function that is breaking down silos, sharing the excellent best-practice that exists across Government, and establishing effective relationships with other functions.

Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of effective communications activity by coordinating, developing and commissioning content for our in-person, virtual and hybrid events
• Be expected to lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of digital and hybrid events, ensuring these are delivery to time and on budget
• Develop relationships with GFF’s senior management team and senior leaders, becoming a trusted adviser to Directors General and others
• Proactively support the GFF senior leadership, central teams and communities to build content and coordinate distribution through the right channels

Requirements:

• Reporting to the public and Parliament on public spending (including estimates and Whole of Government Accounts); setting rules for budget management and the accounting framework;
• Setting policy on public sector pay and pensions;
• Driving up the capability of Government Finance and developing the management information, tools and frameworks to better understand and ensure value for money;
