Job Description

The service will include providing advice and guidance, recommending approved routes to market, offering procurement support, and running procurement activities on behalf of schools.

You will be responsible for leading procurement activity on behalf of schools, specialising in a defined product area, you will also support colleagues working on other categories. As commercial practitioner you will be supporting school buyers, explaining the process and running procurement activities on behalf of schools.

Responsibilities:

• Run procurement activities
• Applying category management methodologies, from assessing need through to finalising of contracts, to ensure that schools obtain the best value for money
• Either via existing frameworks or by running a compliant procurement event, run procurement processes, delivering against agreed specifications.
• Identify areas for improving commercial delivery
• Team management
• Work closely across Schools Commercial Team, identify areas for improving commercial results and customer satisfaction.
• Support ongoing development of yourself and the team
• Deliver against savings plans and manage future opportunity pipeline
• Provide accurate, compliant advice to school buyers
• Effective management of case loads, to deliver within agreed SLAs
• Ensure that guidance and information is in line with latest DfE policy
• Support schools in understanding & applying public sector procurement rules
• Support schools applying category management methodologies when running their own procurement activities
• Work with stakeholders across the organization to continuously improve performance
• Adopting a user centered approach, ensure delivery of first class service to our customers that maximise value for money and provide effective delivery against schools priorities
