Position Title: Safekey Site Assistant and Site Lead

Job Description:
The Department of Youth Development & Social Innovation is seeking qualified individuals for hourly Safekey Site Assistant and Safekey Site Leader positions.
The Safekey Site Assistant is an entry level position which may have a regular or on-call work schedule/location. Site Leaders may have an assigned work location or may travel within a region of sites to provide hands-on support for other Site Leaders. Work site locations for both positions will be in Elementary. Site Assistants can be promoted to Site Leaders. Work hours for both positions can range from 6 – 9am and 2- 6pm or be a combination of both. The position will average between 19 – 25 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Site Leader duties encompass that of a Site Assistant and in addition include but are not limited to
- Provides oversight and supervision of the before- and after-school program participants and Site Assistants; ensures the planning, programming and execution of the daily schedule and program curriculum are being implemented; ensures programs and activities are structured to best meet participants’ needs; submits a weekly/monthly calendar of activities
- monitors site inventory and prepares supply and equipment requests as needed; conducts fire drills, provides reports, ensures participant records are organized and maintained
- assists with parent behavior meetings and gives input on behavior plans; communicates with program parents regarding site concerns, participant behavior, incidents, etc. communicates with full-time or part-time classified staff with regard to assigned site, parents/guardians and program activities, submits special events to assigned supervisor for preapproval
- monitors work performance of assigned Site Assistants and reports performance to assigned supervisor; performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bilingual skills are desirable.
- Formal and informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- First Aid and CPR Certification at time of start/reclassification.
- Need to maintain the physical agility necessary to demonstrate and maintain sports, and other recreation games and activities, move and maintain equipment, and other physical activities as needed to provide the safety, welfare and security necessary.
- Computer experience required.
- 6 months of experience working with children in a group setting
