Job Description

Reporting to the Transport and Ground Equipment Manager, the Vehicle Mechanic / Technician is responsible for carrying out the effective servicing and repairs of Jet2.com‘s ground equipment and vehicles. Although your operational base will be Manchester, you must be able to travel and work at other bases in the UK and internationally as required.

Responsibilities:

• Excellent time management is essential in this role as you will need to perform daily checks, repairs & servicing on our vehicles and GSE in line with Jet2.com and vehicle manufacturers recommendations.
• You will identify, report and repair defects, ensuring auditable paperwork is completed and submitted accurately and on time. By co-ordinating with our main contractors on each site you will ensure that Jet2.com equipment is compliant with both local and current regulatory requirements, including CAP642 and LOLER and PUWER.
• Repairing faults and ensuring the operational efficiency of equipment at our other bases, when the need arises, is also a requirement of the role.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience in electromechanical repairs and servicing of GSE, light commercial vehicles and plant equipment.
• With up to date knowledge of current health and safety principles we are looking for someone who shares Jet2.com’s passion for delivering the highest standards in safety.
• You will be required to work under your own initiative, so it is vital that you have excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively communicate information as required.
